Hello<\/span>, <\/span>my<\/span> name is <\/span>Park<\/span>, <\/span>Chaidit<\/span> Sittisunthornwat<\/span>, <\/span>Digital<\/span> Sustainability<\/span> Specialist<\/span> at<\/span><\/em> MFEC<\/em>. <\/span>In<\/span> this<\/span> role<\/span>, I <\/span>act<\/span> as<\/span> a <\/span>translator<\/span> between<\/span> sustainability<\/span> and<\/span> digital<\/span> technology<\/span> (IT). <\/span>The<\/span> current<\/span> job<\/span> responsibilities<\/span> are<\/span> quite<\/span> broad<\/span>, <\/span>ranging<\/span> from<\/span> sales<\/span>, <\/span>business<\/span> partnership<\/span> development<\/span>, <\/span>idea<\/span> generation<\/span>, <\/span>research<\/span>, <\/span>new<\/span> business<\/span> development<\/span>, <\/span>coordinating<\/span> with<\/span> the<\/span> development<\/span> team<\/span>, <\/span>and<\/span> collaborating<\/span> with<\/span> sustainability<\/span> experts<\/span> to<\/span> create<\/span> MFEC’s<\/span> Digital<\/span> Sustainability<\/span> Solutions<\/span>. <\/span>In<\/span> addition<\/span> to<\/span> my<\/span> primary<\/span> duties<\/span>, I <\/span>also<\/span> have<\/span> the<\/span> opportunity<\/span> to<\/span> support<\/span> the<\/span> Corporate<\/span> Sustainability<\/span> Development<\/span> (<\/span>Corporate<\/span> SD) <\/span>team<\/span> in<\/span> promoting<\/span> sustainability<\/span> within<\/span> MFEC <\/span>itself<\/span>.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n

<\/p>\n\n

MFEC is my first full-time job. My background includes an internship in civil engineering, specifically in structural works for the skytrain system. A significant turning point for me was when I transitioned from civil engineering to the world of business and technology. This shift began when I became part of the first generation of the WEDO Young Talent Program. WEDO is the Digital Office of SCG Cement-Building Materials, and I had the opportunity to be involved in new business incubation and new business development projects for the company’s subsidiaries in Thailand and Southeast Asia. This was a major turning point, and I am grateful to the mentors who gave me this chance. Finally, before graduating, I interned at Seekster, a startup platform providing cleaning services, to experience startup culture and decide whether to work in a corporate setting or a startup. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the mentors who supported me throughout my internships. I will always be thankful to them. <\/p>\n\n

\u201c<\/span>T<\/span><\/span>o <\/span>build<\/span> a life through meaningful work<\/span><\/span>\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n

My dream and intention can be summarized in one sentence: “To build a life through meaningful work.” This sentence can be divided into two parts. “To build a life” means developing both my physical and mental capabilities, including both Hard Skills and Soft Skills. I am fully aware that I still have little experience. When considering the term “little experience,” I see it as an opportunity from two perspectives. The first is that it is a good opportunity because I can still ask my mentors and continue to develop a lot. The second is that the cost of mistakes now is much lower than it will be in the future. Therefore, I am committed to continually improving myself. As building a life means accumulating wealth to create a stable foundation, I want a life that is “just right,” neither too much nor too little. Finally, it involves accumulating friendships and building a network around myself. <\/p>\n\n

As for the latter part, “meaningful work,” this is a philosophy of life for me. I believe that when we do meaningful work, whether it\u2019s through the value we deliver, our colleagues, our supervisors, or the environment within the company, we gain energy. This energy can be reflected on days when the sky is clear, when we work efficiently and deliver complete value, or even on days when things are not going well. It is the energy that helps us rise, fight, and overcome every obstacle ahead. <\/p>\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n

Turning Point in Career Path: Transitioning to This Role<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n\n

Two years ago, during a class on entrepreneurship, a CEO came to share his experience with the students. During a break, our professor asked the CEO what skill students should focus on learning. The CEO’s response was “ESG or Sustainability.” This sparked the initial interest that led me to dive into research, attend sustainability seminars, and, most notably, sit in on every sustainability-related course I could find at the university. The more I learned, the more I became passionate about it. By chance, I came across the Digital Sustainability Trainee Program 2023 at MFEC, which piqued my interest, and I was eager to be a part of this project. I fully committed myself to researching and reading through documents like the Annual Report and SD Report to understand MFEC\u2019s DNA. After going through several rounds of selection, I\u2019m grateful to have had the opportunity to join the team, thanks to all seniors, especially Mr. Weerabutr Rattanapop, my supervisor who gave me this chance. Before moving on to the next point, I must mention that the CEO who inspired me two years ago was none other than Mr. Siriwat Vongjarukorn (Leng), the CEO of MFEC. <\/p>\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n

“The best thing about working at MFEC is having a great and capable boss, along with a team that truly understands me.”<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n

At times, I may be described as a “hawk” or someone with a straightforward, dedicated, and high-energy personality. On one hand, this characteristic helps drive work forward, but on the other, it can sometimes make things a bit exhausting for my colleagues. Beyond the Digital Sustainability team, there are also colleagues from other teams who provide excellent support for our team\u2019s business goals. I can feel everyone\u2019s commitment to achieving our objectives, which motivates me to work even harder. I strive to improve my skills and find a balance in both body and mind, with the aim of contributing to the success of the team. In summary, I feel fortunate to be part of such a supportive environment. <\/p>\n\n

“MFEC and the Digital Sustainability team have given me the opportunity to make decisions and take action within a larger scope than I initially thought possible. This has been a significant step in my personal development, helping me align with my intentions and dreams… ‘To build a life through meaningful work.’ On the other hand, I am grateful for my colleagues who remind me during moments of ego or overconfidence, always supporting me with the genuine intention of seeing me grow and improve.” <\/p>\n\n

The Transformation from the First Day at MFEC to the Present<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n\n

From a fresh graduate with boundless energy, I have now become more balanced, focusing more on the tasks that truly matter and no longer working aimlessly as I did a year ago. I have welcomed new team members, gained a better understanding of product development, and expanded my professional network. I am fully aware that this journey is just beginning and there is still a long way to go. However, over the past year, I feel satisfied and can clearly see a more capable version of Park Chaidit. <\/p>\n\n

I am always proud to wear the MFEC badge and be a part of the Digital Sustainability team. There have been countless memorable moments\u2014whether it was receiving the first PO in my inbox, working on my first proposal and quotation with the team, or attending my first client meeting with my supervisor at a coffee shop in Khlong Toei. There were days spent racing against time to complete thick proposals for client review, welcoming new members to the team, and bidding farewell to those who embarked on new career journeys. Each of these experiences, from the beginning until now, has filled me with a profound sense of pride and gratitude that continues to grow with every step forward. <\/p>\n\n
